This Should Not Be Possible
A seat-belted passenger gets hit by a semi-truck. Serious injuries follow. Life is already upside down. Then, instead of stability, help, or accountability, the pressure gets worse.
Nevada HAND documents the part of this story that should make any reasonable person stop and ask one question: how does something this extreme keep happening in plain sight, with records, with witnesses, with videos, and with no meaningful intervention?
Who We Actually Are
Partners
Before the crash, during the crash, and after. This is not about individual blame. This is about what happened to us as a family when everything went wrong at once.
Community Service in Action
Handing out donated masks to people who needed them. We gave away thousands of masks that people donated money for. That’s who we are.
Service Over Profit
Jessica also volunteering during the pandemic. We built our reputation on doing the right thing, regardless of the cost.
✓ This is a father publicly endorsing his son’s character and community work—not someone about to disinherit him.
Why This Matters
We understand why some people are skeptical. Systems can make victims look unstable. But the record speaks: we’ve consistently chosen to do good, even when it cost us. That matters when evaluating what happened next.
This is not about us claiming victimhood. This is about a documented sequence that, when viewed together, raises questions that deserve answers.
The Event That Changed Everything
Semi-truck collision, I-15 Southbound near Barstow, California. CHP Report #9835-2024-01013. Catastrophic impact. Helicopter medevac to UMC.
Josh: Multiple trauma injuries, ongoing recovery. Jessica: Already on worker’s compensation (work-related attack), pre-crash. Both ADA protected post-incident.
Rental vehicle (Enterprise) destroyed at Copart 30 days post-incident. EDR data destroyed. V2 EDR never produced by Progressive. Harassment begins almost immediately.
~$83,000 in numismatic inventory unaccounted for. Specific rare coins documented: 1918/7-S Standing Liberty Quarter, 1918/7-D Buffalo Nickel. Loss never resolved.
The Record Speaks: The Calls
Call 1: Erica Arthur – Nevada HAND Admits Fraud, Refuses to Help
Nevada HAND acknowledges you are fraud victims while simultaneously refusing to provide any assistance. The representative confirms the facts but hides behind policy.
Call 2: Karen Varney – ADA Retaliation
After you report ADA protections in writing, Nevada HAND suddenly discovers a “policy violation” and removes equipment from your unit. When confronted with federal law, Karen Varney is instructed to say nothing.
She’s been instructed to stay silent. That’s the most damning statement possible.
Video Evidence
These videos document the sequence, access restrictions, property conditions, and the lived reality of what happened. They are publicly available with captions. Watch them in order.
The Record: Documented Admissions & Evidence
Who We’re Holding Accountable
The Public Should Be Asking
- How does a family already hit by a semi-truck end up under even more pressure instead of protection?
- Why do repeated red flags keep getting ignored by people whose job is to protect tenants?
- Why does every layer of the story get worse the closer you look?
- How many documented admissions, recordings, and formal complaints does it take before someone acts?
- What does “help” actually mean when the offered solution is to reapply after being displaced?
- Why are fraud victims treated like the problem instead of the people who committed fraud?
- Why is a property manager instructed to stay silent on federal law violations?
Final Position
One clip can be dismissed. One complaint can be ignored. One family can be told to move on.
But a pattern this extreme, this documented, and this irrational should stop people cold. The record became too disturbing, too layered, and too undeniable to leave buried.
We are holding every single person accountable. We have the documentation. We have the recordings. We have the timeline. We have not lost our cool, we have not crossed any lines, and we are not moving on until the public knows exactly what happened.
